002 — Direktlink 14.11.2005, 11:44 Uhr Kristoffer Hi Bernard Yes, the crane was upgraded and upon the final testing the crane collapsed. I have made some enquiries and my sources tell me, that the crane is going to be repaired, but how badly the crane was damaged, I don't know. 004 — Direktlink 14.11.2005, 16:15 Uhr Kristoffer Hi Gabriele No and yes - the crane is the upgrade of the AK680-2, but it is correct that it is the ex. Tecmaco unit. The history of the crane goes as follows: Stanley Davies -> Hewden Stuart -> Schmidbauer -> Tecmaco, Argentina (part of Sarens) -> Sarens, Thailand The AK680-1 is the blue one running by Sarens in the UK - now renamed AK680-3. I don't know for sure which configuration the crane had at the time of the crash, but since the upgrade consisted of a new superlift mast, my guess is mainboom and derrickmast along with some suspended counterweight.
