Hallo
Ich habe doch eine Frage über die LG/LGD problematik...
Sorry - I have tried to write it in german, but I lost track of it....so I hope it is OK in english....:-)
I agree with BUZ about the differences between a LG/LR or a TC/CC - I have tried to compare both the TC2500 and the TC2800 with the respective crawler versions, and they are more or like identical. I am looking forward to compare the pedestal version of the LR1750 with the LG1750, but I don't have the full LG1750 data-sheet yet.
In my opinion adding a derrick and suspended counterweight (superlift) doesn't make a LGD1800 or LRD1800 of a LG1550 or LR1550. Just take a look at the data-sheets (LG1550). The non-derrick version has a max. payload of 550 tonnes at 4,5 meters (same for L and SL-boom). The superlift version (LDB, SLDB or SDB) has a max. payload of 370-380 tonnes at 9 meters. So a derrick and suspended counterweight doesn't make the crane lift 800 tonnes, so in my opinion the LGD1800 is wrong - seen from a derrick - non-derrick viewpoint.
The LGD1800 from Riga Mainz is in my opinion nothing but a standard LG1550. 800 tonnes is the max. capacity at 3 meters, but at 4,5 meters it lifts 550 tonnes - just as the standard LG1550. As far as I know, the crane's other payload data are similar with the standard LG1550 with the S-boom. I believe that all Riga Mainz has done is to reduce the minimum radius by 1,5 meters (from 4,5 to 3) and thereby increasing the payload by 250 tonnes. But all that is theory because nothing is that small and that heavy. 800 tonnes at 3 meters is btw. also the max. payload of the LTM1800.
The LGD name - I'm not really sure of this.... I have never seen the name in anything official from Liebherr, so isn't it also a commercial "stunt" from Riga. In my opinion it is just a way of saying "hey...we got a derrick for your crane"...
To wrap things up: 1) 800 tonnes or 550 tonnes - it doesn't matter. It is the same crane and it doesn't matter if the crane has a derrick or not (my opinion) 2) LG or LGD - official "name" by Liebherr or just a commercial "stunt" from Riga Mainz (my question)?
And as a footnote - the TC2800 belonging to I.F.A./C.O.M.A.P in Italy has also a payload of 800 tonnes instead of the normal 600 tonnes. I believe this is also just a reduction of the minimum radius.
And a second footnote - I have updated the Cranelist today with many new cranes and a lot of new "Leistungsprofile". Take a look at the comparison between the LR1350/1 and the new CC2200...it looks like Liebherr has got a serious compeditor in the 350-tonne class.
And I hope I don't start a major discussion about the LG/LGD....:-)
Best regards
Kristoffer -- Grüße / Greetings
