Hello, I was wondering if anyone can give me a little help with my 630 EC?. In my two photos you can see a small silver platform and I'm wondering if it is supposed to sit on the cross of the main base like in photo no.2, and if it is a base platform for the first ladder section?.

I looked at the other main 630 EC thread and from what I can see it doesn't so I'm wondering where the bottom of the first ladder sits/rests?. Does it just rest on a part of the main cross base?.

Yes, so it is. At the original Crane second a small ladder is fittet at the cross base straight down to the railtrack. There is no further platform between.

An other point are the rail bogies. You should turn them just 90°, so the cable drum sits between the bogies in the middle of the railway.
Last point of attention is the right installation of the tower sections. On one side the have a latice structure like a K laying on side. These K-sides should face towards driving direction of the cross base. That is mostly the free space to climb down the crane, when a new structure is errected beside the railtrack.

Many thanks for your help Stephan. Is this small platform just a spare part?.

Yes, I could also see that some of my rail bogies were out of line anyway and that I would need to put them straight so I'll turn them to the 90 degrees.

No, it's just CONRAD-Policy. Sometimes you get some parts more, and sometimes less...

Ah, ok. Well I hope I can get my crane finished without any missing parts.....!

Also, can you tell me if I have these parts for the A frame bar correct?. Does the small pendant piece go in the middle/between the metal points and the big pendant go on the outside(then put the pin in)?.

Thanks Stephan, but I'm having trouble getting that link to work and I seem to be having trouble opening the main Conrad website for some reason. Is there another link which shows the building process for this model, and in the meantime could you tell me if I do have those parts in the correct position?.

Many thanks,

Thorleif

O K, CONRAD's webpage is a very special thing, too...

The positioning of your parts is correct, so far. The gray plasticpart on the right side has to be turned around 180°, so the smal end gets in the yellow metal clevis. All three parts are connected with one of the longesd pins. These pins have also three differnd lengths.

Here you can see it again:

That's great, thanks again.

I can now see that if I had looked at the pendent lines coming from the tower head I would have seen that the small grey part has to be turned 180......

Maybe tonight I should not work for 3 hours on it again....or perhaps I should have a coffee break every hour....

P.S I see from my photo that the ladder on my model seems to be on the other side of the A frame support bar....(?).

The picture above shows a prototype. So don't belive anything you can see in it...

Edit: "Anything" is the wrong word! Better: "Don't belive every detail..."
