I am a Spanish boy enthusiastic about heavy haulage and heavy handling operations and I would like to put over here some pictures of my collection, but I am unable to upload them! I would be very thankful if anyone could upload pictures from the Spanish companies Arbegui, Izquierdo, Transmodal and Transmosa. 005 — Direktlink 27.08.2005, 16:30 Uhr Jorge Hello and thanks for the nice welcome to the forum, I have included two pictures of a heavy haulage made last year on the sea port of my hometown. The transport consisted on transporting some kind of boiling boxes for a petrochemical complex and where transported by road from the factory to the sea port in order to be loaded onto a ship for the end customer. Each boiling box (or whatever they are) weighted about 120 tons. The transport was performed by Transportes Especiales Alfredo Cordero which used a 8x4 Mercedes Benz 3553 together with a 16-axle lines Trabosa modular unit. The truck was ballasted with about 20 tons for this project. The company Alfredo Cordero owns one 4x2 and one 6x4 Volvo F12, both from the 1980s, two 4x2 Volvo F12 from the middle 1990s, two 8x4 Mercedes 3553 (ballast/tractor-head trucks) and three 6x4 Mack (ballast/tractor-head trucks) all of them from the 1970s. Non-propelled vehicles are 16 axle lines from Trabosa, two modules of 6 axles lines each also from Trabosa, 18 axle lines from Cometto, 4-axles triple-extendable flat platform from Cometto, 6 axles Cometto lowbed extendable semitrailer, 2 axles Trayl-Ona interdolly, 2- and 3- axles Trabosa dollies and one 3 axles Trayl-Ona dolly. This company carries out all the super heavy weight projects in the province of Asturias (north of Spain) and they are capable of moving loads up to 800tons. The company does not own any kind of load handling devices (jacking, skidding or similar). More pictures will follow! Regards from Spain! Bueno, let's speak english: Not only the spanish heavy haulage is pretty interesting but also the former typical spanish 8x2 lorries....especially, of course, your fantastic home made PEGASO trucks! But I think also of the very old Dogde trucks which have been used througout Spain in the 70-ies and 80-ies, if I remember right. If you have got pictures of these old 8x2 vehicles, just put them in here! That makes me feel like at home Kerst: I have some pictures of cranes, but they are light ones, in the range from 60 to 120 tons more or less. I will include some of them here for you. I also have pictures of old cranes made in Spain, if you are interested let me know. Hendrik: at this time I do not have pictures of 8x2 Barreiros-Dodge or Pegaso trucks and nowadays it is very difficult to see them. However if anytime I see one of these I will take some pics for you. I've sent the administrator some pictures to be published here. They are the following ones: DAF 95-430 with Palfinger PK 66000. This truck is owned by an amusement rides company. It is a 6x2 truck (the 3rd axle is a non-driven ROR) and has 6 outirggers (2 at front, 2 at middle and 2 at the end). The company owns another truck like this one. The Lecitrailer semitrailer is 15m long. DAF 95 6x2 tractor head with special Bulthuis semitrailer fitted with a heavy Heila crane. It seems to be used to clean the ships used to transport bulk materials (coal or sand). Photo taken at El Musel port. MAN 33-464 6x4 tractor-head owned by Bimenes Transportes Especiales towing a 4-axles Trabosa lowloader. The lowloader has hydraulic compensating neck. Here photographed at El Musel seaport transporting a heavy forklift truck from Kalmar. http://www.bimenes-te.com/ Liebherr LTM 1150 (?) owned by Gruas Cuadrado. At the time of the photograph they were dismantling the lattice-jib with help of a 8x4 Iveco EuroTrakker truck with Hiab 260 crane. 014 — Direktlink 29.08.2005, 15:48 Uhr Jorge Hello to everybody, let's speak in English, that there are people that does not speak Spanish... Here you have some pictures of a Spanish made crane. Can anyone guess the manufacturer? This machine was made in the late 1970s and was fitted with Barreiros engines and Pegaso axles. Not more than 15 units were made! It could lift 35 tons at 3m radius and has a max. lifting height of 30m (without jib). I hope you find them interesting. This forum is (I think) the best available and it would be great to extend its reach. Apart from Spain there is a lot of activity going on in Central and South America. A lot of used cranes, both from Germany and the USA, have gone to the southern part of the American continent. Most used crane dealers in the USA have spanish speaking sales persons. Hasta la vista! There are lot of Spanish people that are mad about cranes and specialist haulage that do not speak English or German and because of this they are not able to participate on any forum. In my opinion would be great idea and could lead this forum to be one of the most complete ones when it comes to meet people of different places. It could be the international meeting point for crane and specialist haulage enthusiasts. Regarding the pics on my last post... that is a HYDRACONS HIDRA 35/30 8x4 truck-crane with extendable counterweight. Not more than 15 units were made. As you can see on the pics some details are literally copied from the ones made by LUNA, like for example the cab of the chassis. Once I saw a picture of a HYDRACONS 35/30 with normal cab (I mean not half-cab). It was really like the ones from LUNA. HYDRACONS manufactured also another machine which was the HIDRA 25/22. I believe the HIDRA 25/22 could be also mounted on a normal 6x4 truck-chassis. Regarding Spanish and its importance in the world... lots of heavy cranes have gone to South America. For example the 16-wheeler LUNA GT-300 of 300t capacity of which only one (1) unit was ever made in the 1980s, that is the heaviest crane ever made by LUNA, was sold in the middle 1990s to a company in South America (Ecuador I believe). The second largest crane by LUNA was the GT-250 of 250t and of which only two (2) units were made. Both were sold to Spanish crane-hire companies, but do not know where they are nowadays... Any idea? 022 — Direktlink 30.08.2005, 15:19 Uhr Jorge Hello, here some pics of a Terex Demag AC 120 (?) working in the erection of a tower-crane on a sloped-street. The crane is owned by crane hire company GRUAS ROXU. It may be the only one in the fleet yellow coloured, the rest are painted white. Katzenfreund: Did you meant these kind of images? It is difficult to find old cranes in Spain unless you mean the old Spanish made machines. Big crane hire companies mostly have new equipment. The AC 120(?) of the pictures below may be not more than 2 years old. Regarding ESNAGRUAS I have checked the Spanish telephone book and I could not find anything related to that name. Perhaps that is the name of a crane-hire group composed by different crane-hirers. Something similar to what happens with Eurogruas 2000. Sorry for the lack of infos. I hope you enjoy! Here I give you a small list of companies in this area. == GUIPUZCOA == Gruas Usabiaga / Transportes Usabiaga (Transbiaga) based at Ordizia Gruas y Transportes Ibarrondo based at Asua / Erandio Transportes Especiales Etxezarreta based at Hernani == VIZCAYA == Arbegui based at Bilbao and Galdakano Gruas Artetxe based at Iurreta Transportes Izquierdo based at Bilbao Arbegui and Izquierdo have very interesting stuff: Hayes 6x6, Mack DM800, Autocar, MAN 8x8, Faun 1000hp, and more vehicles. I think these are the most important companies in this area. There are also the most important companies in Spain. In the area of Burgos I cannot tell you anything, but I will ask some of my contacts to see if they know any company in this area.
