I think it is a dinosaur when used in the pictured situation.
When will you ever have a chance to pour 10 to 20 tons of concrete in one lift? Why, on a stationary building side, would you prefer a diesel run machine over an electrictity run machine? Taking up/down a modern building cranes may take about the same time to take up/down such a Manitowoc boom, but needs much less space.
They don´t move on crawlers in Manhattan so why have crawlers on building cranes at all?
