Zitat: | Menzitowoc postete Hello Amuse,
inspired by the pictures and films of your superb 1:25 (working) scale modell of a russian KBM-308 bottom slewing tower crane I have a question to a potential future development of such crane types:
Is there any attempt from the manufacture to develop a new or improved KB-Series tower crane base on the current design principal of bottom slewing and self erecting functionality?
When I go through this thread here, I have the feeling, that there is still enough work for such crane type with many prefabricated building projects in Russia and maybe also in neighbouring countries. So I would assume, that there is also a market for a “new” KB-Series of cranes.
When I look at the current cranes I see some areas of possible improvenemts:
Modern electric frequency controlled winch drive for precise lifting and maybe something similar to the Liebherr Micromove-Systeme (Precise and extreme slow lifting-winch turning without applying the winch brake) to facilitate positioning of heavy building elements.
Radio-remote control and boompoint and hook camera systems to improve the safety and to support the crane drivers work – such systems may still in use on the older cranes as a retrofit.
The current luffing jib KB-cranes are based on the same design principals as the old german Peiner-T-series cranes, Liebherr A-series cranes and other bottom slewing cranes: they strictly require rail mountings to cover the area within the minimal luffing radius. It would be a great improvement to design a luffing jib mounting and boom stop system, which enables extreme steep boom angels to reduce the unreachable inner circle and then the crane can be used as a real pedestal crane. Relocating the complete crane on the construction site may be done with SPMT-transporters.
As the KB-cranes are far too large for a 1-package-transport as the conventionel small self erectors (e.g. Liebherr-K-cranes, Potain IGO-T / GMTR …) a sperate transport of the base crane, the base tower system, the additional tower elements and the boom system is still required, but there may be room for improvement of the dimension of the parts, their transportablity on the road and on the rail (for long distance transport to remote cities and construction sites).
Liebherr has filed a patent in 2012 (Patent No. DE102012019248A1) which shows some improved functionality for a very large bottom slewing and bottom climbing tower crane. Main focus is on ease of rope reeving during setup and segmentation for transportability. Some of these functionalities may be also a good idea for a “new” KB-crane.
What are your ideas for such a “new” KB-Towercrane?
Best regards Christoph |
Greetings! Unfortunately, the production of the lower slewing cranes in Russia is declining, the transition to the production of upper pivots is under way. From the lower pivots cranes of the fourth and fifth groups are now being produced, KB-405, KBM-401P, KB-408.21, KB-415, KB-416, KB-515.
