hi ed,
I hope i understand the term "pendant lines" right - these should be the "Abspannstangen" - the bars that go from the tip of the luffing jib to the derrecking bracket?
this shouldn't be a problem. I've got an AK 850 standing here equipped with about 85 cm luffing jib - equipped with the original kibri-parts. It stands there since Jul 10th, 2003 - and still it even carries a 4a TGA... if it has to
I've built it as follows:
- glueing together the jib segments - Marabu Fixogum is said to be the best for this, but since i still don't have it I've just used simple paper glue. It's quite strong, but still removable (except the small pins at the ends of the connectors). The glue should dry quite long to get its ultimate strength (1 day or so if possible) - assembling the jib and pendant lines on the ground. At the pendant lines its important to push the pin right into the middle of the eye - so that the plastic gets the least possible stresses. This works best if the lines are completely free - without pull from the jib. I always put the eye of the line onto the forefinger and push on top of the pin with the fingernail of the thumb - this appears to work best. - erecting the crane just as the original...
greetings,
