If I remember correctly, 00-Scale is the same as H0, which is 1:87 and by far too small for an 1:50 diorama.
H0- houses may only fit in the background, away from your main scanery.
What you need are buildings in 0-Scale (1:45).
That is nearly 1:50, but as model railroading is due to expensive rolling stock and lack of space not very common in that scale,
you'll have to search a lot around to find what you're looking for.
