LTL2600



i know that Prangl has this crane... but i actually saw one on one of my jobsites here in the states, was shocked when i saw it. looks like a spider to me and can lift 3 tons! who makes this thing?

Hello LTL 2600,

there are some manufacturers, who build such machines. I know e.g. Furukawa Unic and Maeda in Japan.
The advantage of this type of cranes is, that they have a very large outrigger base compared to their size, so they can often lift the load within the this base and need no counterweight (In fact, the crane has no counterweight) -> look at the first picture.
In consequence, these cranes are very lightweight for their liftig power.

On top of the Deutsch Bank skyscraper, two Maeda mini crawler cranes erect a Wilbert WT200 e.tronic topless tower crane in a difficult tandem lift operation. The tower crane sits on one tower and the mini crawlers sit on the other tower of the twin towers.
