Hello Jack, the railcar mover was fabricated for MAN in Nurnberg later ADTRANZ. this equipment have an hydraulic winch to roll on the railcars, different track width and hydraulich wagon brakes. there are some more of them in use like in schindler altenrhein( swiss), one in austria (SPG Vienna) , one in Siemens Sacramento (USA) another one in Poland and another two of them in Duewag originally in Krefeld and Dusseldorf. the frist on was the swiss. the swiss one was for loading and unloading from just one side. all the oter once are open to both sides. some of them have operaters cabin ( just an operators stand) and all of them are used by remot control. most of the are equipped with MAN engines and HPC remote control system. winch is made mainly by Rotzler.
so far so good for the moment.
