Dear all, I have to say that I am rarely disappointed when I am able to drive in Europe! I arrived here yesterday afternoon and drove from Schipol to Hannover (ish). Within 10 minutes of leaving the airport, I came across two Mammoet AC500's that look to have completed a tandem lift of a large bridge section. Unfortunately the road was busy and there was not a safe place to stop. Further up the road, I saw an LR1280 working on a building site. I then came across a Liebherr from Van Der Tol and about another 30-40 minutes after this, I saw another Van Der Tol driving in the opposite direction (think it was an LTM 1200 or 1250) followed by its support wagon.
But today was the real find. I was in a meeting all day and was then driving to my hotel near the CLAAS factory. I was cruising down the Autobahn doing 160-180km's when a boom caught my attention. Slowed down and then could not beleive what I saw. Got off at the next exit and managed to wind my way through the back roads until I came across this the site.
Franz Bracht are erecting a windmill on this site but when I arrived they were still building the Gottwald. I have to say I do not know the model number (think it is AK450??) and could not find the nameplate on the machine, but here are some photos:
I will be in the area for most of the day tomorrow so I am hoping I can get some more pictures as they build it up. Not sure they will have the luffer completely built by the time I have to leave but who knows!
Thanks for looking,
