On the dashboard of the LTM1500-8.1, there is a miniature wind turbine. I have seen these in other pictures of trucks, too. Does anyone know where these are available?
Similarly, I have seen the Michelin man on the front of cranes and trucks, including some of the older pictures on Jan Van Wees site, and even on a scale model or two. Is there significance to this tradition, other than just a way to customize or personalize the equipment? |

i think most of these miniature turbines come either from Kibri or are promo gifts from manufacturers, at least thats the ones i saw came from
as for the Michelin man (his correct french name is "le bibendum") that somehow has a sort of tradition as a decorative element of european trucks and sprung over to cranes as well.
the figure dates back to 1894 (year is wrong in english wikipedia, but correct in the french article) and is just a kind of talisman to be safe on the road.
