Hi Paul,
your pictures look very good. I do not know if I skipped it, but which kind of camera/equipment do you use?

I used to have a Canon 7D MKII but now have a Canon 5D MKIV. Normally use a 24-105mm lens but sometimes a 100mm macro.

For some photos yes but not all. First time I’ve been asked that question!

For example, the third photo of the baldwins ballasttrailer has great depth of field (for f9.0).

I don’t like shooting at small apertures as the shutter speed gets too long and too much ambient light gets in and changes the colour. Higher ISO means more grain so I prefer the focus stack. Takes a lot more time but I prefer the end result.

Yes, that's exactly how I see it. I just wondered, where does the depth of field come from. Post processing is the answer :-). I have been photographing for a few weeks with a 5d IV. Would you take photos of the light setup or making of picture from the next model shooting and show here ? -- Gruß Marco |

I didn’t have a special set up. Just a tripod and remote release. I bounce the flash off the ceiling to minimise shadows.
But I’ll try to remember and post a photo.

Thomas Herron Scania 6x4 with Nooteboom Euro Lowloader 2+4:
This model harks back from 2009 when it was released by Premium Collectable Models. Unfortunately Stephen Maguire passed away a few years ago but not before producing some great commissions such as this one. His son Jack Maguire took over the business and now trades under Maguires Models, with the most recent release being the MA Ponsonby Scania I posted earlier.
I did have this model when it came out but sold it a few years ago. I decided that was a mistake and bought this one recently:
